Frequently Asked Questions

Is whole bean coffee really better than ground?
Yes, if you have a grinder at home. Ground coffee oxidizes quickly and loses aromas within minutes. Whole bean coffee preserves its full sensory profile until the moment of grinding, giving you a fresher, more aromatic, more complex cup.
What type of grinder do I need?
We recommend a burr grinder (manual or electric). Blade grinders heat the bean and produce an irregular grind, affecting flavor. A manual ceramic-burr grinder is an excellent entry point.
What is the Honey process in coffee?
It's a processing method where the pulp is removed but the mucilage (the sweet layer around the bean) is kept during drying. This transfers sugars and aromatic compounds to the bean, producing a sweeter and more complex profile than a traditionally washed coffee.
How long does whole bean coffee last once opened?
Up to 60 days in an opaque airtight container, away from light, heat, and humidity. Once ground, the time shrinks drastically: grind only what you're about to brew.
Do you ship throughout Colombia?
Yes. We ship from Antioquia to all of Colombia and roast to order to guarantee maximum freshness in every bag.
Where does this coffee come from?
From Hacienda Las Mercedes in Ciudad Bolívar, Antioquia, grown at 1,800 m.a.s.l. We work directly with the farm, guaranteeing traceability and fair prices for the producer.
